After breakfast we will continue our trek until we reach the highest point of our journey, the Warmiwuanusca pass (literally translated as: ‘where the women die’) at 4,200 meters above sea level (13,780 feet). Here we will get a wonderful panoramic view of the snow capped peaks, lush valleys and spectacular surrounding mountains.

We will then descend into the grand valley of Pacaymayo, where there will be hot tea waiting, and where we will eat dinner and set up camp for the night.

We will eat an early breakfast and then head to the Runcuracay archeological site at 3,700 meters above sea level (12,139 feet), and then continue on to Chakicocha, where we will eat lunch. After lunch, we will walk to Puyupatamarca (the city above the clouds), which is an impressive Inca town, and has a great view of our route.

Day 4: Puyupatamarca to Machu Picchu

After breakfast we will hike to an impressive view of the Cordillera de Vilcabamba. We will then continue on our journey to Winaywayna, where we will visit the archeological site and eat lunch.
