Itinerary

Detailed itinerary

Day 1 Day 1: Cusco – Lares Hot Springs – Kiswarani Waterfall Camp

Your Lares Trek adventure begins early in the morning with pickup from your hotel in Cusco. You will travel through the Sacred Valley for approximately 3 hours until reaching the Lares hot springs. Here you can relax in the thermal baths surrounded by the Andes before starting your trek. After breakfast, you will begin a gradual hike through the famous potato valley, visiting small Andean villages and learning about local agriculture and medicinal plants. After lunch in Kiswarani village, you will continue hiking to your campsite near the waterfall, where you will enjoy dinner and spend the night under the stars.

Day 2 Day 2: Kiswarani – Condor Pass – Cancha Cancha Village

Wake up early with hot drinks and enjoy breakfast before starting the most challenging day of the trek. You will hike for about 3 to 4 hours uphill to reach Condor Pass at 4,680 m, the highest point of the trek. From here, enjoy spectacular 360-degree views of the mountains, lakes, and valleys. After taking photos and resting, descend toward the valley and stop for lunch. In the afternoon, continue hiking to Cancha Cancha, a traditional Andean village where people still live without electricity or modern technology. You will have the opportunity to interact with local families and learn about their lifestyle and traditions before dinner and overnight camping.

Day 3 Day 3: Cancha Cancha – Huaran – Maras Salt Mines – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes

After breakfast, begin the descent toward the Sacred Valley. Along the way, you will pass farms growing potatoes, quinoa, and other Andean crops. After reaching Huaran, you will say goodbye to the trekking team and continue by vehicle to visit the Maras salt mines, where thousands of salt pools have been used since pre-Inca times. After the visit, continue to Ollantaytambo, where you will explore the town before taking the train to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and relax.

Day 4 Day 4: Machu Picchu Guided Tour – Return to Cusco

Wake up early to take one of the first buses to Machu Picchu and enjoy the sunrise over the citadel. Your guide will lead a detailed tour of the site, exploring temples, terraces, and ceremonial areas while explaining its history. After the guided tour, you will have free time to explore on your own or hike Huayna Picchu if booked in advance. Later, return to Aguas Calientes to take the train back to Ollantaytambo, followed by transportation to Cusco.
