What is Machu Picchu?

Machu Picchu, also known as the Lost City of the Incas, was built in the 15th century during the expansion of the Inca Empire. It is considered one of the best preserved archaeological sites in South America and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

How to Get to Machu Picchu

There are several ways to reach Machu Picchu from Cusco:

  • Train from Cusco or Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes, then bus to the citadel
  • Inca Trail trekking (4 days / 3 nights)
  • Salkantay Trek (alternative route, 5 days)

Machu Picchu Tickets in 2026

Tickets are limited and must be booked in advance. We recommend booking at least 2 to 3 months ahead during high season.

  • Circuit 1 - Classic lower citadel route
  • Circuit 2 - Full citadel with terraces
  • Circuit 3 - Sun Gate (Inti Punku) route
  • Circuit 4 - Huayna Picchu mountain (limited spots)
